CamCore Digital Legacy
What we do. And what we don’t.
Digital Legacy is a technical help service. It helps you set things up so the people you trust can reach your photos and accounts one day. It is not legal, financial or estate-planning advice.
01
About Digital Legacy
Digital Legacy helps you organise your digital life so the people you trust can reach what matters — your photos, important accounts and instructions — if something happens to you.
Everything is delivered online: sessions run by video, and the Self-paced Digital Kit you work through at home. We do not make home visits. You do every step yourself, on your own phone or computer, while we guide you.
02
What we help with
- Taking stock of your important accounts, devices and digital records.
- Setting up the free legacy and inactive-account tools that providers offer, such as Apple Legacy Contact, Google Inactive Account Manager and a Facebook legacy contact.
- Setting up emergency access in a password manager.
- Backing up and organising your photos and important files.
- Writing clear, plain-English instructions for the people you choose.
- After a death: explaining what each company allows, and helping the family lodge its requests, including through the free Australian Death Notification Service.
03
What we don’t do
- No legal advice. We cannot advise on wills, probate, executor duties, powers of attorney, or how an estate should be divided.
- No financial or tax advice.
- Never your legacy contact or executor. We are never your legacy contact, executor, or anyone’s named contact in these tools, and we do not manage your affairs.
- Never your passwords. We do not ask for, see, hold or store your passwords, PINs or recovery codes. You type them yourself, on your own device.
- No access without authority. We never sign in to anyone’s accounts, including the accounts of someone who has died. We do not bypass security, guess passwords or use workarounds that break a provider’s rules.
- No guarantees about providers. Apple, Google, Microsoft, banks and others decide who may access an account, under their own rules. Without advance setup, some still require a court order.
04
Your privacy in group sessions
Other people in a group session can see anything you share on screen. Never show passwords, recovery codes, or financial or identity documents. If you need help with something private, tell us and we will arrange a one-on-one session.
Sessions are not recorded unless we say so at the start and everyone agrees. CamCore’s Privacy Policy explains how we handle what you tell us, including how long session notes are kept.
05
When to see a lawyer
Speak to a lawyer if you need a will, a power of attorney, help administering an estate, or help with a dispute about one. In Victoria you can start with:
- Victoria Legal Aid, for free legal information and referrals.
- The Law Institute of Victoria, to find a private lawyer.
- State Trustees Victoria, for wills, powers of attorney and executor services.
We are happy to work alongside your lawyer, so the technical steps match their advice.
06
Your rights and contact
Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that they are provided with due care and skill.
