Who holds
that domain?

Look up any .au, .com or other domain. See who it is registered with, whether it is locked or expiring, and where its DNS points, straight from the registry.

What it shows

Read a lookup in plain English.

01

Registrar

The company the domain is registered through. To move or renew it, the holder deals with them, or with the reseller they bought it from.

02

Status

Locks that stop transfers and changes, and the stages after expiry: grace, redemption and pending deletion. Each is explained beside it.

03

Dates

When it was registered, last changed and renews. The .au registry doesn’t publish .au dates, so those say so.

04

Nameservers and DNSSEC

Where the domain’s DNS records live, and whether its answers are signed so they can’t be faked.

Good to know

Common questions.

01Why can’t I see who owns it?

Registries no longer publish owners’ names, addresses, phone numbers or emails. For .au names the registry publishes the holder’s name and ABN, but this lookup leaves them out: you can see them on the .au registry’s own lookup. To reach a domain’s holder, ask its registrar, who can pass a message on.

02It says no one holds the name. Can I have it?

Very likely. Search for it on CamCore Domains to see the price and register it. A .au name also needs you to meet the eligibility rules, such as having an ABN.

03The domain is expired or in redemption. What now?

It can usually still be renewed or restored before it is deleted. Domain Name Recovery explains each stage and what to do.

04The domain is mine. Where do I change these details?

If it is with CamCore, sign in to My CamCore and open Billing & Domains. Each domain’s page changes its nameservers, DNS records, DNSSEC and contact details.
