Domain renewals and auto-renew

A domain name is registered for a set period, usually one or two years. When that period ends it must be renewed or it stops working: the website and email on it go offline, and after a short time someone else can register it.

See when your domain renews

Open My CamCore, then Billing & Domains. The Expires column shows each domain's date. On a domain's own page, Overview shows the date and whether auto-renew is on. Domains renewing within 60 days also appear in the reminders under your account menu.

Auto-renew

With auto-renew on, CamCore Billing issues the renewal invoice before the domain expires and charges your saved card, if you have one, so the domain doesn't lapse. With auto-renew off, the invoice is still issued, but you must pay it yourself before the expiry date.

To change it, open the domain's page and choose Auto-renew is on: turn off or Auto-renew is off: turn on on the Overview tab.

We recommend leaving auto-renew on for any domain you use for a website or email.

Paying a renewal

Unpaid renewal invoices show under Needs attention on Billing & Domains. Choose Pay to finish payment in CamCore Billing, already signed in.

If a domain has expired

Contact CamCore Support straight away. Some domains can still be renewed for a short time after they expire, sometimes for an extra fee. A .au domain that is not renewed is removed by the registry and can be registered by anyone.

.au domains

A .au domain is a licence, not a purchase. You must still meet the eligibility rules when it renews, such as holding the ABN or business name it was registered with. Keep the contact details current so the registry's notices reach you. See Domain contact details.
